Despite having excellent advantageous in the petrochemical industry, paint produced within the country is not standard yet and is not comparable with its foreign counterparts. In fact, the industry lacks Nanotechnology and other modern methods of paint production.

Although Iran can supply near 80% of the market, it still has a severe shortage of raw materials for the production process. The country has had to import low-quality but rather cheap raw materials from countries like China, to decrease the production cost.

Moreover, because of the economy depression in recent years many domestic producers have not been able to produce paint, and prefer to decrease the production capacity and import bulk quantities of low-quality and low-price paints mostly from China.

In machinery section, however, the industry deals with a market which prefers home-made products mostly because of their lower prices rather than foreign ones. About 90% of machinery used in this industry and all parts thereof except for electromotor are provided by domestic producers.

Then we can conclude that the market has deficiency not only in raw materials and electromotor but in technology and modern production lines. So, the market would welcome those suppliers of these products and technologies that offer the high-quality products at reasonable prices.
