Iranian government has finally put the decades old plan to build a dry port near Iran's center of business, Tehran, to tender. The tender was held last week and according to officials six foreign and domestic companies participated.

The Switzerland-based TransInvest Group won the tender through its Iranian partner, to build the $30 million Aprin dry port 20 kilometers to the south west of Tehran. The project is estimated to take 2 years to complete and is planned to process some 400 thousand containers. The operation of the port is awarded for 25 years to the developer by this contract.
